Tony is interesting because he faces challenges which are difficult but he overcomes them. For example when the weka bird was “caught in a trap”, Tony tried to help it. “They crept forward until they were almost within arms length.” The bird was panicking, flapping its wings and trying to bite him. This was a challenge because the weka kept pushing him away and he could have been hurt badly by the sharp beak and talons. He overcomes this challenge by speaking calmly and approaching the bird cautiously while making soothing noises. This makes him interesting because his actions teach us to approach situations cautiously or else we might be hurt.
